A limited number of travel grants are available to assist Alaskans outside of Anchorage to attend the conference. Travel grants reimburse attendees for their accommodations and travel costs.

Who can obtain a travel grant? Priority is given to rural utility managers, operators and board members. More than one person per community can apply, please prioritize the applications. Other interested rural residents will be added to the wait list and notified two weeks prior if there is enough funding for their travel.

What does a travel grant cover? Travel grants cover a portion of your travel costs up to a certain amount. Grantees will pay for their own lodging and conference fees.

When should I apply? Grants will be distributed to rural utilities first, and then on a first come first served basis. Apply as soon as possible. Grantees that do not register for the conference will be removed from the travel grant list (as soon as funding is confirmed and notification provided.)

How do I apply? Fill out the paperwork! Complete the on-line registration for the conference and print your registration receipt. Next, download travel grant application and fax or email the filled out application with your contact information, your travel grant agreement, W-9, and a copy of your registration receipt. Typically, the utility pays for the costs up front and seeks reimbursement from the grant. The W-9 should be filled out for whoever is being reimbursed for your expenses (typically the Utility). You will be contacted shortly.
